The idea of creating this painting was born in me under the impression of a real landscape. It was a small church that I was driving past. Sunset on a clear summer day. The sky and clouds were painted by the sun in bright pink, raspberry shades. The domes of the church against the background of such a sky seemed to be wearing a golden halo. At that moment, a church service was taking place in the church and the bells were ringing. The approaching light blue-lilac twilight paints the white trunks of the birches and thickens the shadows. The gentle ringing of the bells, the soft shades of the sunset sky, peace and tranquility - all this gathered in such a miniature.

And why raspberry ringing?
This is what they call in Russia a special melodic, iridescent ringing of bells during some church services. Why "raspberry"?
There are several versions of this name.
Here is one.
In the Middle Ages, in the Flemish region of Belgium, local craftsmen created a successful alloy for bells. The ringing of bells from this alloy was very gentle and melodic. In the 17th century, this city became the European center of bell casting and bell music. Russian Emperor Peter I ordered bells for Russian churches from local craftsmen. The bells arrived in the country and were placed in the belfries of Moscow and St. Petersburg. These bells were named after the city in which they were created. And, as usually happens when a foreign word enters a language, this word finds something similar in the language. The name of the city in which this alloy was created, in Russian pronunciation is similar to the name of the raspberry berry. This is the city of Mechelen.
I apologize in advance to the residents of the city if the name is distorted during translation.
But I prefer another version. The sound of bells made of this alloy is very soft and melodic. It is similar to the color and taste of raspberries, just as gentle and bright at the same time.
This is the combination of sounds and colors that was born in my imagination.
When creating this miniature, I remembered these feelings of mine and put them into the picture. Feelings from the shades of the sunset sky, the color and taste of raspberries, the soft, iridescent ringing of bells.
These feelings of calm and peace warm the heart and give birth to peace in it.
