50x40 cm ~ Painting, Acrylic
I was inspired to create this work by a beautiful cosmic phenomenon – the Supermoon.
An unusually large and bright moon rises above the horizon during its closest approach to Earth. This phenomenon occurs annually at the end of autumn. Astrologers call this phase the Supermoon.
Astrologically, the Supermoon is considered a time of emotional peak, and the painting captures this tension. Against the backdrop of the moonlight, the branches of an old willow tree, about to shed their last leaves, stand out sharply. They symbolize fragility and resilience in the face of inevitable change, reminding us that the world has value only when filled with a sincere heart.
These are precisely the powerful emotions this phenomenon evoked in me.
In working on the painting, I focused on the depth of emotion evoked by this cosmic phenomenon, the subtle beauty and simultaneous grandeur of this moment.
For this painting, I used an unusual base – a blackout fabric with a melange weave. The uneven coloring of the fabric beautifully conveys the uneven, gray color of autumn twilight. This imperfect texture of the fabric (in the spirit of wabi-sabi) enhances the atmosphere of authenticity and handcrafted craftsmanship, lending the subject a special graphic quality and tactile depth.
The design was applied directly to the fabric without any preliminary preparation, priming, or base painting. I added a special component to the paints to prevent the colors from bleeding through the fibers of the fabric. Finally, I varnished each element of the painting to protect it from damage and fading.
I plan to create a small capsule collection on the theme of the Supermoon. What will it look like? I don't know yet. The moon and my senses will tell you.
For the stated price, you purchase the painting itself and a mat. I carefully selected the shade for the mat, as it must match the tone of the painting itself. This is crucial for the correct perception of the painting.
